My son and Jess are staying with his in laws while he and Jess find housing in Colorado. They are completely enjoying being back in Colorado and their pets are back to being content, free ranging, and healthier. The open prairies and secretive wilderness surround them as well as a great fishing lake. Many a late afternoon my son will call me from the tranquil shore of the lake as he relaxes from the days work, watching the fish break through the lake surface for the hovering insects as he waits for the setting sun.
My son and Jess were out with errands when they got the call from Jess’ parents. The house had burned down, nearly to the ground. They were able to get themselves and the pets out in time, but everything was destroyed. It was only when they were allowed back in the area that they discovered the protective Hand of God.
There had been a clear line drawn at the doorway to my sons room, along the bordering walls, even in the attic that saved all of my sons’ and Jess’ belongings.
I mean that ever so literally. All the flames bypassed their room and continued to burn and devastate the rest of the house as if a fire stop chemical had been applied to my sons room that they were using. Upon hearing about this, I immediately pictured a line of God’s angels in the attic preventing the flames and angels of God standing guard in their room, and along the walls, protecting their meager belongings and musical instruments.
My son and Jess are saved, twice born and serving the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Jess’ parents have yet to accept God’s priceless, yet free to them (us) gift of salvation. Perhaps seeing for themselves God’s protection over His own will melt the hardness of their hearts and bring them into His loving Arms. I know in my “knower” that they will accept Jesus. Eventually. So we continue to pray for them, taking nothing for granted.
“Me and my household” thank the good Lord God for His protections and I am deeply touched by His ever-present help in times of need. Even as I write this, I am reminded of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego in Daniel chapter 3. Although my sons belongings do indeed carry the scent of smoke unlike the three faithful in king Nebuchadnezzar’s time, I look at it as a reminder of His faithful, sovereign protection.
A milestone of the day that He drew the battle line for my son and Jess.
Bless the Lord, oh my soul and all that is within me, bless His Holy Name!
Have you accepted God’s priceless gift for you? It can’t be earned otherwise it wouldn’t be a gift. There is only one true, living and uncreated God. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacobs still lives today, unchanging, because He is eternal. God is a triune God (Three in One) ; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He loves you completely just as you are. He has been reaching out to you for relationship, seeking your love in return. Time is not on our side, understand His incomparable, unchanging, unconditional love for you and believe in Him.
Admit you are a sinner (every single one of us are!) in need of a Savior. Ask Jesus Christ of Nazareth to forgive you of your sins and to be your personal Savior. Turn from your sins (repent). Believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose from the dead to live forever more. (the penalty for sin has always been the shedding of blood).
Please get connected with a Bible believing and Bible teaching church. Again, time is not on our side and every new Christian must “grow up in Him” fast. Get a Bible, I recommend the New King James version. Get into His Word to learn more about Him and His expectations. The gospel of John or Mark in the New Testament will give you a speedy overview. I am so very happy for you and your decision. Now tell others about Jesus Christ of Nazareth, steer them away from the fiery, torturous, eternal pit of hell while you still can!
