What’s the Big Deal About Heaven? Harps, clouds, angels…come on now.

Are you prejudice about Heaven? Picture this for a moment:

“…After satan and the unrepentant sinners are cast into the lake of fire, God is going to create a new heaven and a new earth. In Revelation chapter 21 John is speaking of the atmospheric heaven, not the dwelling place of God.  He saw a new heaven & earth for earth had past away. In  2 Peter chapter 3, the present earth will pass away with a roar & intense heat. Now, why would God do that?

“Because this present earth has been contaminated by mans sin. God will create a earth, a wonderful holy city; the New Jerusalem.

city of gold heaven“(Revelation chapter 21) The New Jerusalem is bigger than any city the world has ever known; 1,400 miles wide and height and depth. A glorious, massive outer wall, the Bible tells us. God is going to descend from the heavens and sit upon the new earth. Believers will live in that city and be  able to go in & out of that city on the new earth. Some think heaven will be boring; the harps, singing, floating on clouds… and some think, “I don’t wanna go there!”  If you thought similarly,  reexamine what the Bible says about heaven in Revelation chapters 21 and 22.

“New Jerusalem has four sides with three massive gates on each side that never close, for a total of twelve gates. What are gates for that never close? They are for going in and going out. There will be things to do, places to go, people to see on the new earth.

“… Eternity will be amazing!  If u think this present planet has a lot to offer just wait until you see the new earth that will have never been contaminated by sin or the curse. You see, we are going to experience things in eternity that we never even dreamed of!  The Bible says that God dwells amongst His people and He will wipe every tear from our eye, no more death or sorrow, nor crime or pain, former things will have passed away.  The sin that death and sorrow that has plagued humanity for thousands of  years will be a thing of the past; no longer be. We wont even have to wear helmets when we go white water rafting; no more pain. You fall out of the boat it wont be a big deal, we’re just  pull you back in, you wont be hurt!

[God knows each of our individual likes and dislikes. He knows the good desires of our hearts because He put them there! Psalm 37:4 tells us ‘Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Him and He shall bring it to pass.’ All the sea life to discover, mountains to climb, snow to ski, animals to play with or to admire, the universe to marvel at, stars to count, the dryness then renewing of the desert, or the changing seasons to enjoy because the temperatures will be perfect! Heaven is to be enjoyed individually and collectively with our uncreated God, Who is the Creator! Heaven is after all, heaven.

[Isaiah 65:17-25 also expounds on the New Creation. Verse 25, often misquoted, tells us the wolf and the lamb shall feed together. No more fearsome predator and prey in heaven. I can hardly imagine petting a big lion or playing chase with a gazelle!]

“Not only sorrow, death, and pain will be gone, they will be replaced with unending and overflowing joy! Psalms 16:11 ‘In your presence is fullness of joy.’ Can you get any more full than full?  ‘At Your right Hand are pleasures forevermore.’  Can you think of a time when you were completely full of joy?   I don’t know what caused your cup to run over with joy but maybe it was the last day of school or after someone called you with really good news. Maybe the birth of a child? Remember how it made you feel like dancing? Can you imagine living with that kind of uninterrupted, unending joy for eternity?!  That would be so amazing, and the joy we have experienced on this side is only a taste.

“I think of what we will experience in New Jerusalem:

“There, in New Jerusalem, we spend eternity with the Lord God.  Angels and the redeemed throughout history will be there.  Imagine how interesting it will be to sit with people we have only read about:  Noah, Moses, king David, apostle Peter, or Lincoln, Washington! Best of all will be the fact that we are going to be with Jesus, our great God and Savior Who has loved us so much, even before we were born.

“Amazing and  wonderful things God has in store for each of us, individually.

“Will  you be there with us? The choice is up to you. You can follow Jesus Christ of Nazareth, God the Messiah in this life and spend eternity with Him or you can reject Jesus and in the end you will have nothing but misery. Forever.”

[There is so much happening, changes in our world with just as many opinions, controversies, and threats. Political upheaval, war rumors, unthinkable changes not just in the middle east but also in the land of the free that are confusing, menacing and complex.

[Your political stand with the alarming, ever-changing issues doesn’t matter. What matters is this one decision that will affect your life on this planet and in the hereafter.

[We do not have “forever” to make the right decision, in fact for many of us we may have only days, hours or minutes.  No one is guaranteed their next breath, absolutely anything could happen tomorrow, today or right now as you read this.

[Your decision is to believe and act upon the truth:

[God the Son, Jesus Christ of Nazareth the Messiah, has cleared our sin debt so that we may have eternal joy, eternal salvation and to be able to share that with God Himself.  We need to acknowledge that we are sinners, willing to turn from sin, that we have sinned and are in need of the only true Savior Jesus because each and every human indeed is a sinner and in need of Him. The triune God: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit; GOD gave of Himself for you because His love for you is beyond measure. Believe Him, that He shed His majestic Blood, died, was buried and rose from the dead and lives... for you. Ask Him to be your personal Savior today, right now. Accept His priceless, yet free to us gift of salvation.

While you can.]
